Porsche Macan EV Turbo debuts in India at Rs 1.65 crore, offering luxury, speed, and a 591 km electric range.
Porsche enthusiasts in India can now rejoice as the highly anticipated Porsche Macan EV Turbo has been officially launched in the country. The luxury carmaker wasted no time bringing its latest electric offering to Indian shores, just days after its global debut. Priced at Rs 1.65 crore (ex-showroom), the Macan EV Turbo promises a thrilling driving experience with its cutting-edge technology and powerful performance.
Excitement is building as Porsche opens bookings for the Macan EV Turbo in India. Enthusiasts can secure their spot to be among the first to experience the groundbreaking electric SUV. Deliveries are set to commence in the second half of 2024, offering a glimpse into the future of sustainable, high-performance driving.
The Macan EV Turbo boasts a longer, wider frame with an extended wheelbase compared to its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart. The exterior features a striking design with quad-LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), LED headlamps, and a coupe-like side profile. The SUV also incorporates LED taillamps and a distinctive LED light bar at the rear. Notable design elements include active air intakes, a retractable rear spoiler, and a flat floor.
Inside, the Macan EV welcomes occupants with a curved 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster and dual 10.9-inch screens – one in the center console and another on the passenger side. The interior reflects Porsche's commitment to merging performance and luxury seamlessly.
Underneath the hood, the Macan EV Turbo is based on an 800-volt architecture, featuring a dual-motor setup. The top-of-the-line Macan Turbo variant packs a punch with 630 BHP and 1,129 Nm, propelling the SUV from 0-98 km/h in a mere 3.1 seconds. The Macan EV Turbo achieves a top speed of 259 km/h, offering a thrilling driving experience.
Porsche makes a bold statement in the electric vehicle (EV) market by claiming that the Macan EV Turbo can cover an impressive 591 km on a single charge, following the WLTP cycle. The electric SUV is equipped with a battery that supports DC fast-charging speeds up to 270 kW, allowing for a rapid charge from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes.
In addition to the Turbo variant, the Macan EV also comes in an entry-level Macan 4 guise. However, Porsche India has kept the suspense alive by not revealing the prices for this variant yet. Enthusiasts eagerly await further details about the Macan 4 as Porsche continues to make waves in the Indian EV market.
